400 EX Headbolt torque

Default 400 EX Headbolt torque

Would someone please tell me the correct torque for the head bolts when re-assembling a 400 EX. I'm assuming all 4 bolts are the same.

Default 400 EX Headbolt torque

The cylinder head nuts ( acorn headed ) are torqued to 33 foot pounds

The 4 nuts are listed at 44N.m 4.5kgf.m and 32lbf.ft the 13 bolts (8mm) are listed as 22n.m 2.2kgf.m 16lbf.ft also take note the specs are for a '05

Only one of those bolts on the cylinder head cover is a 8mm bolt, The other 12 are 6mm bolts.
Your specs are not the same as listed in my Honda service manual

oops! you are correct the 6mm bolts are not listed in my manual under that section. Under standard touque values it states 6mm nuts and bolts have a value of 22N.m 1.0kfg.m 7lbf.ft I hope this helps.

It also states to tighten those bolts in a crisscross pattern

Default 400 EX Headbolt torque

I don't know if this is to late. but the 8mm bolt is torqued to 17 ftlbs. and the rest of the bolst are only 88 INCH ILBS. i know this for a fact because i had to Heli coli all my bolts becaue i over torqued them.. if you need anymore help let me know. i just put mine back together.
