Sure sounds like you covered all the gas flow items.

The next time it dies and won't fire up, remove the spark plug and check for spark. A while ago, I remember reading about a mini that did the same thing. 4 dealers looked at it and couldn't find the problem. He finally took it to a Racing Specialist and he got it going 1st try. Call it inner voice or experience. If wondering, that mini did have spark. Weak spark. He replaced its stator assembly and it fired up 1st kick - been running great ever since. Not too sure if the stator is gone in our E-Ton (this is very rare on an E-Ton) but it can happen.

Hope this idea helps....

yep....what he said

I am thinking it's more of a fuel issue like jdean 28 experienced. It bogs down then dies. If it was electrical I would think it would just shutdown like hitting the kill switch. I am thinking it might be a loose choke or choke tube. I will investigate further. I just lost a bid on ebay for a new carb. It went for $37.99. I am bumming now!

I would remove the air cleaner and start the motor. When it starts to die put your hand over the mouth of the carb for a second.Your hand will act like a choke and keep it running if its leaning out..This will only work if the fuel is making it to the carb from the tank of course..I've never heard anything good about the electric choke and the fact that the newer Etons have manual chokes tells me they had too much trouble with the electrics..If you go to the Eton America site and look under accessories they sell a manual choke kit so you can upgrade your electric.

I have 10 e-tons but not your model. We have had simular problems with several units including our 90r. After all the proceedures you have done we discovered that e-ton does not wire thier vehicles so good. We have had 4 units with loose electrical wires in various places. So track all your wirng to connection points.
we disconnect all snap joints, clean and spray wd40 about every 2 months. This seems to help. My understanding is that an elecrtic surge can cause the cdi to temporarilly malfuntion and will reset shortly after. Good luck hope this helps

We have ten e-tons and 4 with simular problems. For us its allways been a loose electrical connection some where. We clean and wd40 all connections every couple months. Also we have had 6 ignition switches fail. Get good quality replacements and that should eliminate some problems.

BTW, I know about the gas in the tank issue with the Etons, I found that out the hard way already. This has happened on a full tank before.) I have an eton 90 that is in the repair shop, what is this about the gas??

Idleing high is usually because of a lean condition...Finding out why it is lean is the trick...I believe the issue with the gas tank is that some of the bikes can't seem to get all of the fuel out of the tank..So even though it has some fuel in the bottom and you have it turned to reserve it won't run until you add more gas to the tank..Clear gas lines or filters are a big help for trouble shooting stuff like that..

Valki, you have no dilectic (electric connection) greae available? I'd sure try it instead of the WD-40 thing.
Depalma: sucking air maybe??? That could cause the lean condition. I have seen a problem (missing part) in the carb slide cause that.
Just a thought.
