Raptor 700 won't start. Battery or electrical problem ?
Hi 700 owners,
(Sorry for my bad english, I'm from quebec, canada)
I'm having a strange problem with my Raptor 700 2006 (2000 km). If I dont ride it for a while (3 weeks) when I try to start it it wont start because the battery is almost dead. But if I ride my quad every day during a week I have no problems. I tested and there is no power getting drained from the battery when that start key is off.
Is it possible that my battery can't hold its charge ? The battery is never totally discharged but there is not enough power to start the engine.
The stock battery is a Yuasa YT9B-4.
Have you heard of a problem like that ? If the battery is not the problem, is there anything else that can cause this problem ?
Thank you !

On the handle bar, clutch side, is a red sliding switch. Be sure and have that in the off position when you have the key off and do not intend to ride for a while, like a few weeks. That alone can drain the battery and cause what you experienced, according to the yamaha tech support at my dealer.
