ETON DXL90 Sierra - starts, runs, then dies
I have a customer's ETON DXL90.
Starts, runs, but as soon as you give it gas it dies.
I can hold my hand over the air breather and it will rev up,
but move my hand and it dies. We did a compression test
and it was 80 PSI, so we replaced the complete top end
with new cylinder, piston and rings. Compression is now
around 125, but it still does the same thing, starts, runs
and dies. Keep your hand over the air intake and it will
keep running. Totally disassembled and cleaned the carb,
checked for intake leaks, checked reed valve, replaced CDI
and coil......same thing. I'm stumped.....HELP.

Hell it' the only thing left.
Where can I get a set?
I can start it up....and if I immediately give it some throttle, it will take off and run at high rpms.
I just ran it aound the building a few times and it has great power, but down near idle it just
dies.

hi my son has the same quad and i've had that problem, b4 you go crazy with the crank seal idea make sure when you cleaned the carb you took out the pilot jet( the one thats hidden up in the hole) and clean it good also the eton's seam to have a fuel flow problem from the tank change to clear lines to make sure your getting constant fuel flow also it seems like mine would bog down too while trying to run it without the air filter box in place let me know what happens my sons rips ***

It starts, idles for a few minutes then dies.
If you ride it, and give it throttle, it will bog, then take off. If you keep the rpms up it runs good.
It just will not idle. Got to be the crankcase seals.
