I got a new water pump seal and oil seal for my 03 Sportsman 700... Can anyone tell me the easiest way to replace these? Thanks...

There is quite alot to it, have to remove flywheel, need a puller, stator needs removed, I would recommend getting a service manual, they explain it pretty clearly

Remove the water pump cover and the impeller. Screw some self tapping screws into the seal and pull it out. Do the same with the oil seal. Install the oil seal then the water pump seal. It is much easier than pulling the side of the motor off.

Do as Kerbbirds suggested: Pull the stator out of the way, remove impeller, pull cover off, then oil seal can be pried out from the back and water pump seal can be knocked out from the rear of the cover. The oil seal is designed to be installed flush from the rear side of the cover, can leak oil if reverse installed, then the water pump seal can be installed with a socket the same size. This way there is no danger of damaging water pump shaft. This is from the manual, sometimes the right way is the best way. Also the spacer that comes with the seal installs over the shaft up against the water pump seal with the hard side(ceramic) side against the seal, the rubber side towards the impeller. Not a hard job if you do it right Hope this helps OPT
